The Dance Collection was established in the late 1980s. In the beginning and up to the present, it is the only full service dance retail specialty store serving southern Delaware and the surrounding Maryland counties.

The Dance Collection has been owned and operated by Cheryl Moore since 2000. Cheryl was a Studio Mom for 15 years while daughter Sarah studied dance in the Dover area. Since Cheryl spent so much time and dollars at The Dance Collection, she made good on her threat to buy the business when she retired from 30 years of State of Delaware, Division of Public Health service.

The Dance Collection has grown over the years and currently carries 18 styles of pointe shoes made by 9 different vendors. Cheryl and her staff are expert pointe shoe fitters. If you are physically and technically ready, The Dance Collection has a pointe shoe for you. The Dance Collection also carries basic Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Social Dance Shoes, from 12 vendors, suited for students of all levels of dance. In addition to dance shoes, The Dance Collection also carries apparel, tights, accessories, and dance giftware which covers all the traditional dance forms of Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Social Dance as well as Praise/Liturgical, Gymnastics and Cheer. Apparel and Shoes come in styles, colors and sizes that will fit Toddlers, Boys and Girls, adult Men and Women, including plus sizes up to 4X.

Customers of The Dance Collection are served Monday – Friday from 11:00PM until 7:00PM and Saturday from 10:00AM until 5:00PM by a staff of 7 including Cheryl.
